The big yard, the ample parking, the size of the house, its appeal from the outside, the fact that it looks like one big house, the flexibility of the condo "rules" because we and our neighbors in 54A were the ones that discussed and decided on all things common to the entire place. We were able to have all the things we needed at the time, things we couldn't do at the condo we were renting back then. It was freeing; much less stressful. I love where it's situated. The woods out back are not only beautiful, but teeming with wildlife. Deer occasionally are spotted in the backyard, wild turkeys pass through often, we've had Mallard ducks walk right through the backyard on their way to one of the vernal pools in the woods, and beyond to the river that flows north to south way back in the woods. It's a rural experience without being in the sticks! The neighbors on either side of the house have been there a long time, they're all very nice, and our neighbor to the south and we have been friends since they bought their house about the same time, 25 years plus ago. It feels like family. I love the stone paver patio that we built and relax on all year. In the winter, we have outdoor fires in the cast iron chiminea I have there. When there's big snow, I shovel off the patio and it makes walls around it and when you have a fire, it feels like a room almost. I think this house is perfect for anyone, like my sister and I did almost 30 years ago, who wants the freedom of movement and decisions about the house that is very near to what you'd have in a detached house, for about 1/2 the price of one. The yard was a paradise and we planted trees that were no more than twigs that are now mature and beautiful.
