So charming and steeped with New Boston tradition you can almost hear the horse and buggy traveling the original dirt road and children running to school. David and Nonah purchased the property from the Barss family in 1974. At the time, it was just school house #4. In 1990 they added the main Cape style house to be the Poole retirement home. The home is a 3 bedroom with a 2 BR septic. The former "school house #4" is now the family room complete with wood stove. A large open laundry area connects the school house to the newer home. The home feature large closets and a ¾ cement basement for plenty of storage. There was a new roof added in 2015 and a complete remodel of the school house in 2015. The house is surrounded with flower gardens and a natural rock waterfall the children likely drank from during recess.

They loved history so they bought the school house to become a future retirement home for its location. They added on the cottage to allow guest from all over the world to visit. The large school room, 2nd living room, was great for family Christmas parties or sing a long. Sometimes it was the meeting place for the circle singers or historical society. They would also share the home with missionaries from all around the world. The New Boston home shows the beauty and history of New England. Because of the Poole charm and the School house # 4 is was a stop for historical location and the Gardens. There is also a seasonal waterfall that runs down under the deck to allow for a picturesque entrance. This is a great home for anyone that loves history and easy access to Rt13 on all tar roads.
