Farnam 1600 is an historic building, yet up and coming neighborhood, located diagonally across from the famous King Fong Restaurant, now owned by Omaha native and film maker Alexander Payne (to be re-opened by him as well, OWH Nov 2017). The 16th Street corridor is being revitalized starting with the Mercury Bar, Himalaya Coffee Shop, and the Limelight apartments at Harney. This revitalization is a city project. Directly in the building, some of the best bread and sandwiches at Culprit Café, and just around the corner, the always delicious Block 16. In fact, the walkability of the Farnam 1600 location is second to none: shops, restaurants, work, parks, theater, grocery stores, banks, post office, and the Riverfront to name a few. However, the coveted two underground parking spaces (a luxury downtown) will house your cars when you need to drive. Inside, the views are breathtaking. Windows the size of patio doors look north, east, and south. Faux wood blinds and thermal curtains will help you control your desired living area comfort while the master bedroom has blackout pleated shades. Although the master bathroom is technically a ¾ bathroom since it does not have a bathtub, the tiled shower is enormous. The toilet is in its separate room in the master bathroom and of course, there are dual vanities. The kitchen is massive with a large refrigerator and good water pressure. The entire condo has new, upgraded flooring. The dining room and living room are interchangeable since both have a cable outlet. You decide which room you want to be the large room. If the plethora of windows aren?t enough for enjoying the outside, you can go relax outdoors on the rooftop. Or cook dinner on one of the three electric grills. Although the neighbors are great, you barely run into them. There are only six condos on the twelfth floor, two on the north side, one in the middle, and three on the south side. #1202 occupies the entire corner of the building?s north tower. And yes, it is possible to have pets. The elevators in the building are very fast which allow you to take Fido out quickly. Need to wash large items? The newer full-sized washing machine in the condo will take care of that for you while the free and very large dryers steps away in the hall will dry your items speedily. With two closets in the master bedroom, storing your wardrobe will not be a problem, nor will storing your outdoor clothes in the two coat closets in the hall. The condo itself boasts great storage ability but there?s always your personal storage facility in the basement for those occasionally used items like holiday decorations or bikes. Each hall also has a trash chute for your convenience, however, recycling is located in the first floor trash room. Glass recycling is located blocks away on Riverfront Drive. However, the condo is fitted with a pull-out trash drawer and pull-out double binned recycling drawer making being environmentally responsible easy. Making sure the building functions in good order, the management company Burlington Capital is staying on top of building business and are in their fourth floor office MWF from 9-1pm. If you?re on your way to the fourth floor gym, you can stop in and say hi. They like to know all the residents in the building. The residents, your neighbors, often like to get involved like hosting parties or decorating. If you want to go to a festival yourself, there is plenty that downtown Omaha offers that you can walk to, like the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony or the Omaha Arts Festival, or just watch them from your windows. How quiet the building is. How active the neighborhood is. The interior and exterior architectural elements. Walking distance to almost everything. Two covered parking spaces. Storage galore. And the views.
