We built this home 7 years ago and have enjoyed every single minute. All of the homes backing to the trees on Gertrude were built within 2 years of each other on premium lots. We felt so fortunate to have found such a beautiful view. All are occupied by original owners.
Our home was the lowest priced of those under construction? but there are no comparable homes for pricing because no one wants to leave.
Things we enjoy most?
Everything.
The open floor plan with flexible conversation areas.
The light. On all levels, from all angles.
The double hearth rooms.
The natural materials used throughout the house---
solid walnut island, natural stone and tumbled marble.
The kitchen. If you like to prepare food, it?s a dream.
The double oven will be missed.
Company. This house is comfortable for two people or for 50. Overnight guests mention that it?s like staying in a five-star hotel. We have hosted small dinner parties and large gatherings of 50 or more. The house accommodates.
Waking up to the sunrise in the east and viewing the moonrise over the trees every evening.
Flipping on the fireplace in the kitchen on snowy mornings and sipping on coffee.
Enjoying movies on the surround sound BOSE system.
Watching sports at either end of the lower level.
The music system throughout the house and outside on the deck.
Then there?s the 3.4-mile walking path. It?s simply stunning on its own but the two state of the art playgrounds connected by a bridge are just steps from the backyard.
The neighborhood swimming pool. Zero entry, baby pool, lots of seating. Just fun.
The yard. You can?t see all of the perennials yet but they will continue to surprise you all summer and fall. And that waterfall?wow.
We would stay here forever but we our grand babies are calling.
Cheers,
Jef and Susie Johnston
